When the Dead Rabbits, an Irish gang from New York City, invade London, they quickly launch a war against the city’s own Swell Mob.

As the body count mounts, sorting out the conflict falls to the lot of Inspector Nat Frayne, “the Mastiff of Scotland Yard.”

But for Frayne the conflict turns personal when the Dead Rabbits seek to take over Covent Garden Market. Where he grew up fighting off Irish thieves, and where his parents still make their living as costermongers.

As ghosts from his own past increasingly haunt him, Frayne finds himself relentlessly drawn into a blood feud with the gang leader.

And now the stakes include his whole family.
