Like many writers I knocked around some, learning about life while I learned about my craft. My main jobs were case worker, dry wall hanger, and Juvenile Corrections Officer. Other occupations included laborer, jazz trombonist (the fun and the money were both incredible, but in different directions), and eventually sales rep for social studies textbooks.

I currently live and write full time in Seattle, where I love hiking the beaches and hills of the beautiful Pacific Northwest with my wife Claire. My other and highly valued activities include tai chi and the study of history.
